Al-Mahrami underscores private sector's role in economic recovery

Member of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Abdul Rahman al-Mahrami has stressed the crucial role of private sector in sustaining the local authorities' efforts to revitalize the economic activity in the temporary capital Aden and the government-held governorates.

His remark came as he chaired a plenary meeting today, Wednesday, in the interim capital Aden, included headship of Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a number of businessmen.

The session aimed to discuss aspects of coordination and integration between the public and private sectors in order to rejuvenate the economic activity.

The businessmen reported to al-Maharmi about the problems and obstacles facing their investment enterprises including the decline of national currency exchange rates and insurance high costs of commercial ships.

The PLC's member reiterated the commitment of the PLC and the government to work on providing all facilitations for the businessmen and to provide secure environment for investment.
