Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak, discussed Wednesday with the Chairwoman of the Federation Council of Russia Valentina Matviyenko the bilateral relations between Yemen and Russia and areas of cooperation between the two friendly countries in the parliamentary and economic fields.
The two parties exchanged views on national and regional developments, including efforts to resume the political process in Yemen and the developments in Gaza.
In this regard, bin Mubarak emphasized the alignment of the Yemeni and Russian positions on the need for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the entry of assistance to the strip without condition.
The Prime Minister expressed his aspiration to open broader areas of cooperation in the economic and service sectors, especially in the fields of energy, electricity and oil.
He highlighted the supportive role of Russia for the legitimate government in Yemen and Russia's efforts to contribute to achieving peace.
For her part, the Chairwoman of the Federation Council of Russia expressed her satisfaction with the results of this visit, noting that this visit will further advance the friendship between the two countries.
She also praised the level of trade exchange between the two countries, which reached over 600 million dollars last year, and expressed her hope that Yemen will soon enjoy security and stability.
