The crisis management panel over Rubymar freighter convened a meeting here today to study the possible scenarios for handling the crisis of the Houthi attacked freighter came under damage and has caused a several-mile oil slick in the Red Sea, turning to a grave environmental threat.
The meeting moderated by Minister of Water and Environment Tawfik al-Sharjabi discussed government’s interest to contain the repercussions of the Houthi sabotage against the Belize-flagged vessel which was laden with 41 tons of fertilizer.
The crisis management panel comprises a team of specialists from the General Authority for Maritime Affairs, the General Authority for Environmental Protection and a number of other specialists.
