Yemen reiterates the imperative of achieving peace, supporting peace revival efforts
[14/02/2024 07:54]
NEW YORK - SABA
Yemen has laid emphasis again on the importance of realizing peace, ending the Houthi-ignited war, and the Presidential Leadership Council's openness to all initiatives and mediations meant to broker a comprehensive and sustainable peace as per the three relevant references.

He especially commended the efforts of the UN Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and those of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to revive the political process, achieve peace, and restoring security back in Yemen.

He pointed to the terrorist militia's persistent and unjust siege on the city of Taiz as a collective punishment and a war crime against Taiz population.

As for the Houthi escalation in the Red Sea, he reminded of President Rashad al-Alimi's warning earlier of those Houthi activities and the danger of these Iranian-backed militia keeping an unlawful hold on the Red Sea ports
