A Bulgarian vessel has dropped anchor in Antarctica in preparation for conducting military research.
The vessel Sv. Sv. Kiril i Metodii (RSV 421) dropped anchor in the western bay of Half Moon Island in the Antarctica, according to Bulgarian's national news agency BTA.
Bulgarian experts and the vessel's surveyed possible sites for work and collected geological samples.
Prof. Eliza Uzunova sampled the area around Half Moon Island for the presence of microplastics.
During the 32nd Bulgarian expedition to Antarctica, which started on November 8, 2023, the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) is publishing video interviews with Antarctic researchers.
