Chief of Staff, the Commander of the Joint Operations Lieutenant General Sagheer bin Aziz discussed Tuesday with Egyptian Chief of Staff Usamah Askar aspects of enhancing cooperation and coordination between the two countries in military and security fields.
The two parties discussed boosting maritime security and fighting terrorism.
The meeting touched upon latest developments in Yemen and ongoing regional and international developments in Yemen, in addition to coordinating efforts to realize national interests and facing joint challenges.
Bin Aziz confirmed that the Yemeni armed forces and all Yemeni different component groups are waging existential battle for the nineth year with Houthi terrorist militia and are defending ground, maritime border and the vital atmosphere across Yemen.
He made it clear that Iran continues smuggling of weapons; rockets, manned jets and war technologies to Houthi militia and is encouraging it to threaten vital interests of Yemen and neighboring countries and target international navigation in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden within a plot to impose hegemony on regional waterways and straits.
