Yemen, represented by the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Waed Badhib, will participate in the World Food Security Summit hosted in the British capital, London, tomorrow, in response to an official invitation from the British Minister of State for Development and African Affairs, Andrew Mitchell.
The global summit, with the participation of representatives of governments, international organizations, scientists, non-governmental organizations and the private sector, discusses efforts to build a sustainable food system resistant to climate change, and support early action to prevent humanitarian crises.
The Minister of Planning, Dr., is scheduled to speak during the summit about the most prominent national efforts made to confront food challenges, and to shed light on the suffering of the Yemenis due to the exceptional circumstances that the country is going through, which have exacerbated the food insecurity crisis.
