His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alim, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, convened today, Saturday, a joint meeting of the two leaderships of the local authorities in the governorates of al-Mahra Mohammed Ali Yasser and Hadramout Mabkhot bin Madhi and senior officials.
The meeting intended to discuss ongoing efforts of the government and local authorities to deal with the effects of the tropical cyclone "Tej" which coincided with heavy rainfalls and floods in the governorates of Socotra, al-Mahra and Hadramout.
President al-Alimi underscored the importance of redoubling the efforts by the national government and local authorities in the governorates of al-Mahra, Hadramout and Socotra to relieve the affected people and repair the infrastructure in the regions which have been affected by the tropical cyclone.
The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the efforts of the local authorities in the two governorates of al-Mahra and Hadramout to manage the consequences of the natural disaster, calling on regional and international partners and relief organizations to sustain the government's and local authorities' efforts in the affected governorates.
