Chairman of the Customs Authority Abdulhakeem al-Qubati discussed Wednesday here with the Expert of Investigating Weapons in the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Woolf Christian promoting cooperation and coordination between the two parties in field of combating smuggling, mainly chemical items, weapons and drugs in Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea.

The meeting reviewed efforts of Customs Authority in combating different forms of smuggling, illegal trade with weapons and the role of customs police on monitoring applied procedures in importing chemicals of double-use in accordance with prior licenses from relevant authorities.

The meeting also touched upon contributions of Customs Authority in protecting national security and enhancing international security as well as the most important needs by the authority and international support to it to improve custom work.
