The Steering Committee of Economic Survival Project discussed Thursday here a report on the level of implementing the project and levels of implementing activities and strategic objectives of the project, which is implemented by the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development with finance from the European Union.
The meeting, which was presided over by Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Wa'id Batheeb, included Ambassador of the European Union to Yemen Gabriel Munera and a number of European and Yemeni high-ranking officials.
Batheeb confirmed significance of the project in providing technical support in field of institutional capacity building for reconstruction, economic recovery and bringing the best competences and experiences participating in workshops and knowledge in institutional improvement and promoting performance of public sector.
Praising EU efforts in supporting economic recovery, he reviewed government's efforts in cooperation with donors, brothers and friends of Yemen in dealing with the deteriorating economic situation and the complicating humanitarian crisis.
