Aden – Saba
Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Waed Badhib, launched, during a meeting held via video communication technology, today, the fourth evaluation round of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation - Aden, with broad governmental and international participation.
The event, which is an international initiative launched in 2011, aims to enhance the effectiveness of development aid globally.
It includes more than 160 countries and international organizations from the public and private sectors, civil society and the Federation of Trade Unions.
It also focuses on the principles of aid effectiveness such as local ownership, transparency and accountability, and conducts periodic evaluation rounds to measure progress and identify challenges to the effectiveness of aid.
It has contributed to increasing the proportion of aid directed to the national priorities of recipient countries, and encourages coordination between governments and donors to maximize development impact.
