President al-Alimi discusses with Russian FM mutual relations

Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi discussed Thursday with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov mutual relations between the two countries and promising opportunities for improving them in different fields.

The meeting, which comes on the sidelines of the meetings of the UN General Assembly here, touched upon latest developments in Yemen and efforts of mediation brokered by brothers in Saudi Arabia and Oman to renew the UN Truce and releasing inclusive political process under UN sponsorship.

President al-Alimi praised mutual relations between the Republic of Yemen and Russian Federal Republic, especially the clear Russian position in the Security Council and all international forums supporting the constitutional legitimacy and its national institutions.

For his part, Russian Foreign Minister confirmed Moscow's firm position towards Yemen and her people and support to all efforts and initiatives aiming at stopping the war and regaining peace process and development in the country.
