His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, met with the Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Kristalina Georgieva on the sidelines of his participation in the sessions of the UN General Assembly.
The conversations touched upon the economic and humanitarian situations in Yemen amid the circumstances of the Houthi militias triggered war.
President al-Alimi briefed the International officials on the implications of the terrorist attacks by the Houthi militias on the oil facilities.
He also cited the required international support to help the Yemeni government to its jobs.
The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council voiced his appreciation to the IMF for its cooperation with Yemen and the facilitations it offered to help Yemen benefit from the Special Withdraw Rights and its efforts to mobilize the international support to sustain the Yemeni government's reforms.
