Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak, participated in the meeting of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level.
The meeting discussed the reports submitted to the Council, including the reports of the Secretary-General on various areas of joint Arab action, procedures for implementing the Council’s decisions between the two sessions (159-160), draft resolutions on political developments, the unified Arab position on the Palestinian issue, the Arab-Israeli conflict and its developments, the activation of the Arab Peace Initiative, and Israeli developments and violations in the occupied city of Jerusalem, and developments in the crisis in Lebanon, Sudan, Syria, Libya, Yemen, Somalia, and a number of other topics on the Council’s agenda.
The meeting was attended by Yemen's permanent representative to the League of Arab States, Ambassador Riyad Al-Akbari.On the sidelines of the meetings, Dr. Bin Mubarak discussed with his Syrian counterpart, Faisal Al-Miqdad, bilateral relations between the two countries, ways to enhance them, and developments in the situation in the region.
