The Chief Executive of the General Maritime Affairs Authority Faheem Saif met Monday with the Regional Director of the International Support Foundation for the Nordic Countries Qasim Douali. Prime Minister Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik received in the temporary capital, Aden today the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassem Al-Budaiwi, and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, they discussed the strategic partnership between Yemen and the Gulf Cooperation Council, and the importance of activating cooperation in all fields, including resuming the role of the Joint Supreme Committee, and leading the efforts of the Gulf states to support Yemen politically, economically, and developmentally in a manner consistent with the priorities at the current stage, and implementing previous agreements.

The meeting focused on the UN and international movements to bring peace to Yemen and the mediation efforts led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to renew the truce and build on it to resume the political process, and the government’s positive response to these efforts, as the Houthis continue rejection to peace and instead respond with more military escalation and targeted attacks on civilians.

The Prime Minister exchanged views with the Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council on the economic and humanitarian situation in light of recent developments and the support required to support the government in dealing with these files, and the continuation of the active and positive role of the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council in supporting the Yemeni people during the current and future period, and supporting efforts to reach a political solution in accordance with the terms of reference for the solution that are agreed upon locally regionally and internationally.
