An expanded meeting was held today in the interim capital, Aden, headed by Minister of Local Administration Hussein Al-Aghbari, to discuss strengthening local governance and building comprehensive peace in Yemen.
In the meeting, which included the chief coordinator of the German Berghof Foundation, an extensive discussion took place on the nature of the tasks and activities carried out by the Foundation.
Al-Aghbari praised the efforts made by the German Berghof Foundation in implementing many activities and programs related to the concepts and foundations of decentralization, financial decentralization, local development and the local authority system, in coordination with local community organizations and other relevant authorities.
He stressed the importance of the prominent role of international institutions and organizations in implementing development projects aimed at rehabilitating local authorities, especially in the liberated governorates.
