Leadership Council chairman receives Emirati ambassador

President Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, received today, Saturday, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, Muhammad Hamad Al-Zaabi.

The meeting touched on the strong bilateral relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, and the promising opportunities to strengthen and expand them in various fields in light of their strategic partnership and common challenges, and the active pioneering role of the United Arab Emirates within the coalition to support legitimacy in Yemen led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The meeting also touched on developments in the local situation, regional and international efforts to renew the armistice, and resume the political process in accordance with national, regional and international references, in particular Resolution 2216.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council briefed the Emirati ambassador on the local situation, and in particular the violations of the militias supported by the Iran regime and presidential and governmental measures to contain the

catastrophic humanitarian repercussions of the Houthi terrorist attacks on oil installations and international shipping lanes. In this context, the President praised the economic, humanitarian and development interventions, and the continuous responses by the Emirati leadership, including the request to facilitate the use of the deposit of the Central Bank of Yemen.

His Excellency the President also praised the political stance of the UAE diplomacy alongside the Presidential Leadership Council and the government in all forums, with the UN Security Council at the forefront.
