The Chief of General Staff, Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Sagheer bin Aziz, received a phone call from the Commander of the US Central Command, General Michael Corella, during which they discussed military cooperation between the two countries, and a number of issues of common interest, foremost of which is the security of international navigation, ways to combat smuggling, and the efforts exerted in it and work to develop and expand its activity.
The Chief of Staff praised the level of bilateral relations between the two countries, expressing his thanks to the US Central Command and the US Navy for their efforts in monitoring and pursuing ships smuggling Iranian weapons to the Houthi militia.
For his part, the commander of the US Central Command stressed support for the security and stability of Yemen, and the continuation of joint efforts and cooperation in the military and security fields and the fight against terrorism.
