PM discusses with governors economic, service challenges

Prime Minister Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik has presided over a meeting for Minister of Local Administration, Sate Minister, the Governor of Aden and a number of governors discussing with them economic and service challenges and suffering of Yemeni citizen, especially over electricity blackouts and making quick solutions to them.

The meeting, which was held through visual communications on Thursday, touched upon quick measures to be taken on the basis of directives of the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council according to current priorities led by electricity and water in the Transitional Capital of Aden and liberated provinces.

The meeting also discussed continuous efforts to control and develop revenues and combating corruption.

Prime minister discussed with the ministers and governors current conditions in their economic, political, military, security and service aspects, in addition to recent changes and needed exceptional efforts to deal with them.

Prime Minister listened to reports from the governors on military mobilization and escalation by Houthi terrorist militia in front lines and military preparations and readiness to deal with them, confirming that continuous Houthi terrorist militia mobilization is a war message and confirmation on their rejection to peace.

Prime Minister praised the vital role played by the local authority in this exceptional condition and integrative responsibility of alleviating suffering of the citizen in service domain.

" Work and facing challenges will only be accomplished in accordance with state's choices and within the framework of state's institutions, and there must be clear and defined objectives before local authorities to meet citizens' needs and aspirations," said Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalik.

The meeting discussed a report for the Minister of Local Administration Hussein al-Aghbari on ongoing preparations for holding the First Consultative Meeting for Local Authorities, making it clear that the objective of the meeting is defining the most important challenges and problems facing local authorities and finding roadmap for enhancing local development.

Governor of Aden, Taiz, Shabwah, Socotra and Jawf talks on efforts of local authorities to do their duties and challenges facing them, as well as visions and ideas to enhance central cooperation and coordination to overcome them.
