'MASAM' Removes 7,444 Landmines, UXO, IED Over 14 Days

Deputy Planning Minister discusses activities and projects in the areas of food security

Deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Nizar Basuhaib, discussed today, in the interim capital, Aden, with the FAO's Food Security and Agriculture Cluster Coordinator Abigael Nyukuri, partnership mechanisms to implement the projects of the Food Security and Agriculture Cluster during the current year.

The two sides reviewed efforts to implement programs and projects funded by the (FAO) in Yemen, and the possibility of increasing the support and assistance that the organization can provide in accordance with its future plans.

Basuhaib stressed the need to strengthen the capabilities of the government's efforts in the field of food security, and to provide technical assistance in order to address the challenges posed by the country's situation. He reiterated the government's emphasis on the importance of strengthening the partnership between the ministry and FAO, and the government's appreciation for all the organization's efforts in Yemen.

On a separate level, the Deputy Minister of Planning discussed, today, with the regional director of International Institute for Democracy and Elections projects, Zaid Al-Ali, and the Foundation's project coordinator in Aden, Shaker Badr, the program of the training workshop to be held in the city of Mukalla, in addition to helping to build capacities and develop local institutions and administrations in the field of foundations of dialogue and national consensus between the various political components by providing forums for politicians, academics and those interested in this matter.
