Deputy Governor of Marib governorate Abdullah al-Bakeri held discussions today, Thursday, with the technical advisor of the European Union (EU) Fanscico Riga Monte and his accompanying delegations who are visiting Marib currently over the humanitarian situation in the governorate.
The conversations covered a range of topics relating the humanitarian situations, the EU humanitarian interventions in the governorate and the growing needs of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP).
Al-Bakeri welcomed the EU delegation, praising the EU's significant contribution to the humanitarian actions in Yemen including Marib governorate, highlighting the needs for more humanitarian interventions in the areas of food, shelter, health, education, water and sanitation.
The EU official stated that the delegation's visit aimed to get first-hand information about the humanitarian situation, assess the previous humanitarian interventions and explore what the EU can offer to further enhance the humanitarian partnership to alleviate the IDPs' suffering.
