Presidential Decisions Bring Historic Gains for Yemeni Women
The recent republican decisions issued yesterday, Thursday, marked a new turning point in promoting the participation of Yemeni women in decision-making positions. The decisions included the appointment of Dr. Afrah Abdulaziz Al-Zouba as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, making her the first woman in the country's history to hold this sovereign portfolio. Moreover, Dr. Ahd Mohammed Salem Jaasous was appointed Minister of Local Administration, becoming the first woman to take on this ministry since the establishment of the republic.

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council has asserted that the Presidential Leadership Council is strongly united around its key objective embodied in restoring the state's institutions, achieve peace, stability, development in place the country in its right position it deserves.

In a speech on Eid al-Fiter delivered by Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism on his behalf His Excellency expressed his best wishes to the Yemeni people on the blessed Eid al-Fiter, offered his heartfelt condolences to the victims of the crowd surge in Sana'a which dozens of humanitarian aids seekers were killed, injured.

His Excellency said" On this blessed night I won't repeat a presentation about what we've achieve but I do stress that we're coherently united more than ever, strongly aligned around our central goal which is to restore the state's institutions, bring peace, achieve your legitimate aspirations for stability and development, place our country its right position it deserves".

His Excellency touched upon the ongoing efforts of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to renew the truce, establish cease-fire, launch political process guided by the UN he said" Our brothers in the KSA have been exerting sincere efforts to drive Houthi militias to renew the truce, establish cease-fire and launch a comprehensive political process under the auspices of the UN".

He added" In this regard the Saudi brothers have engaged in intensive rounds of consultations in order to achieve the peace we're looking for but the militias have continued to procrastinate, haven't yet responded to these initiatives, they rather try to capitalize on to achieve political gains, carry out misleading media campaigns".

His Excellency continued to say" The Houthi militias decided to trigger this war earlier and today they choose to keep on the war, don't care about our people's suffering and its hopes.

The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council came to say" For us we have made all necessary concessions to alleviate our peoples' suffering, we have paved the way for the efforts of the regional, international and UN's mediators."

He added" We opened seaports and airport, the government declared that it will pay the salaries all over the country in accordance with Stockholm Agreement, but the militias viewed that as an action of propaganda for the legitimate government, went on trying to stop the salaries in the government-held governorates by targeting the oil seaports and commercial ships ".
