President al-Alimi attends US celebration on opening first mission in Yemen

Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi attended Thursday the festival held by US embassy in Yemen on the Occasion of the 64th Ceremony of opening the first US diplomatic mission in Yemen.

President al-Alimi toured the gallery of the memorial photos, which document a significant stage of diplomatic relations between the two friendly countries enhanced by the opening of US Commission in Taiz City on March, 16, 1959 as the first diplomatic mission in Yemen.

Welcoming President al-Alimi, US Ambassador to Yemen Steven Fagin confirmed commitment of his country in supporting Yemen, its people and its political leadership until realizing people's aspirations in peace and stability through inclusive political process under sponsorship of the UN.

The US diplomat called upon Houthi militia to prove its readiness to honestly enter the negotiations and end its siege on oil exports, which represent 70 percent of public resources.
