The Presidential Leadership Council held a meeting chaired by President Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Council, and in the presence of its members Sultan Al-Erada and Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, and via video communication Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, Tariq Saleh, and Abdul Rahman Al-Mahrami, while the council members Othman Majali and Faraj Al-Bohsani were absent with an excuse.
At the meeting, the Presidential Leadership Council reviewed the government's report on the economic and living conditions, and the reforms taken to improve the performance of public finances and diversify sources of income from non-oil resources in the wake of the Houthi terrorist attacks and their catastrophic humanitarian repercussions.
The Council approved a set of measures and directives to enhance the course of comprehensive reforms, while keeping the economic and living file under continuous discussion, and emphasizing to redouble efforts to maintain monetary, service, and commodity stability, and to keep the general budget deficit at its safe levels, in a way that prevents any side effects on vulnerable social groups.
During the meeting, the Presidential Leadership Council listened to a report from Council member Tariq Saleh on the results of his visit to the city of Taiz, within the framework of collective efforts to strengthen unity, alleviate human suffering, restore state institutions, and end the coup of the terrorist Houthi militia backed by the Iranian regime.
He also reviewed the report of Prime Minister Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik on the results of his participation in the World Government Summit in Dubai, and the Yemen Donors Conference to support the Humanitarian Response Plan in Geneva. In addition, the Presidential Leadership Council saluted the meetings of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission held in the interim capital, Aden, praising the role of the Commission in supporting the Council during the last period, and the hopes pinned on the results of its meetings in strengthening national alignment and achieving the desired consensus in the state’s management of the benefits of the remainder of the transitional period.
