Brussels – Saba
Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, and an accompanying delegation including Council member Faraj Al-Bahsani held a session of official talks with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, at the start of a presidential visit to the headquarters of the European Union in the Kingdom of Belgium.

The President of the European Council welcomed the President of the Presidential Leadership Council and his accompanying delegation, stressing the importance of the visit in strengthening bilateral relations and joint coordination between the two sides at various levels. Michel also affirmed the European Union's commitment to support the Presidential Leadership Council, the government, and the Yemeni people and its openness to the broad political and economic partnership between the two sides, and to support all efforts aimed at achieving peace and stability, and alleviating the worst human suffering in the world.

In the meeting, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, in his name and the members of the Council, expressed his gratitude for the European position in support of the Yemeni cause, and emphasized the importance of doubling pressure in order to push the terrorist Houthi militias to deal seriously with the mediation efforts to bring peace and stability to Yemen, and to punish them along with their Iranian bakers who send more shipments of internationally banned weapons to the terrorist militia.

The President noted the importance of broad partnership with the European Union, including strengthening its financing interventions to ensure the transition from relief and humanitarian support to development and economic aspects that would sustain the impact of these interventions in various sectors.

In this context, His Excellency the President stressed the importance of pushing the European Union towards pumping funds approved for international organizations through the Central Bank, in a way that contributes to strengthening the position of the national currency, and ensuring that humanitarian aid reaches its beneficiaries in various parts of the country.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council renewed the council's commitment to the comprehensive and just peace approach, expressing his aspiration that the ongoing efforts by brothers and friends lead to the restoration of the political process that guarantees the participation of all Yemenis, women and men, in power and wealth, and building a state of equal citizenship and the rule of law.

The head of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the European steps to designate the Iranian Revolutionary Guards on the terrorist list, given its subversive projects in the region that threaten international peace and security.
