Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalik met today, Monday, here on the sideline of the World Governments Summit with the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Kristalina Georgieva.
The discussions covered topics relating to the ongoing collaboration between the Yemeni government and IMF.
Dr. Ma'een detailed Georgieva on the government's reforms programs and efforts to handle the economic hardships and mitigate the humanitarian suffering the Yemeni peoples have been enduring for years due to the prolong conflict the country has been plagued by.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed that the government is very keen to carry out the comprehensive reforms track in order to achieve the stability of the national economy, national currency and improve the State's revenues, rationalize expending and bolster transparency, fight corruption.
The IMF Director demonstrated understanding about the huge challenges facing the Yemeni government, affirming the IMF's keenness to promote partnership with the Yemeni government and to sustain its efforts to overcome the current difficulties.
