President al-Alimi convenes meeting of government, local authorities

Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi met Wednesday with Minister of Agriculture and Fishery Wealth Salem al-Socotri, who reviewed to the president the ministry's plans in agricultural and fishery fields and means of facilitating benefits and services to Yemeni people.

President al-Alimi listened to a report regarding current preparations to inaugurates the work in the Project of Hassan Strategic Dam, which its first phase costs USD 78 million financed by United Arab Emirates.

The project's goal is to improve agriculture and increasing groundwater in Abyan and the Transtional Capital of Aden.

Minister al-Socotri reviewed also mechanisms and plans of the ministry and ensuring stability of fisheries and required joint coordination between concerned bodies for this purpose.

President al-Alimi directed formation of a committee from the ministries of agriculture and fishery wealth and industry and trade and governor of Aden to activate the monitoring role and controlling prices of fisheries.
