Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Waed Bathib, met today in the interim capital, Aden, with the delegation of the United Kingdom's Foreign, Commonwealth and International Development Department, which is visiting Aden, headed by Deputy Director of Development Affairs and Humanitarian Team Leader.
During the meeting, they discussed a number of issues related to the priorities of relief work, the economic situation, increasing funding for the humanitarian response plan for the current year 2023, enhancing coordination between operating organizations and improving monitoring and evaluation mechanisms.
Dr. Batheb said, "The humanitarian crisis in Yemen is a complex and multifaceted issue, and we must all seek to address it according to a comprehensive and coordinated approach that includes all the multiple actors, and aims at a strategic and balanced shift between relief, development and peacebuilding interventions."
