U.S. Treasury Sanctions 21 Individuals, Entities for Involvement in Financing Houthi Militias
The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced today the designation of 21 individuals and entities, as well as the identification of one vessel, on the sanctions list for their involvement in transporting petroleum products, purchasing weapons and equipment and providing financial services to the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias.

Lahj governor discusses Yemen Aid's interventions in the province

Governor of Lahj Major General Ahmad Turky discussed Wednesday with Chairwoman of Yemen Aid organization Samar al-Yafi' interventions of the organization in the province during 2022.

In the meeting attended by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation for Production Sector Abdulmalik Naji, Governor Turki praised interventions of the organization in agriculture, health, water and education and active contribution of the organization in alleviating suffering of citizens.

He pointed out that the province suffers from challenges in all service fields, especially with the increasing numbers of displaced people.

For her part, al-Yafi' reviewed projects implemented by the organization during the past year in Lahj and projects under implementation led by building complete health unit in Hawtah city, as well as the humanitarian program for 2023.
