Head of Leadership Council arrives in Jordan to discuss Yemeni and regional developments

His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, arrived today, Monday, with Council members Tariq Saleh and Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, to the Jordanian capital, Amman, on an official visit, during which he will King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and a number of senior officials in Jordan.

His Excellency the President and his accompanying delegation were received at Marka Military Airport by the Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ayman Safadi, the Mayor of the capital, Amman, Youssef Al-Shawarbeh, a number of Jordanian officials, and the Yemeni Ambassador to Jordan, Ali Al-Amrani. During the visit, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council will discuss developments in the Yemeni situation and its regional and international repercussions, and joint efforts to deter the Houthi terrorist threats to the security of the Red Sea, global trade supplies, and international peace and security.

In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the President of the Presidential Leadership Council expressed his great appreciation for Jordan, the king, government and people, for their honorable positions alongside the Yemeni people and its political leadership in various regional and international forums, and its aspirations to restore state institutions and end the coup of the Iran-backed Houthi militias.

His Excellency the President praised the Jordanian humanitarian facilities provided to thousands of Yemenis fleeing the war of the terrorist Houthi militia, or those arriving for study and treatment, as well as its appreciated efforts in hosting periodic discussions and consultations between the Yemeni parties and components in support of efforts to establish peace and stability in Yemen.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council also expressed his confidence that this visit would represent an additional impetus to strengthen bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and peoples in various fields.
