Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi: The Presidential Council keen to promote peace chances to save the Yemenis further destruction

RIYADH - SABA
Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi said the Presidential Leadership Council is very keen to boost the opportunities for achieving the urgently needed peace to avert more destruction that the Yemenis are no longer able to afford.

During his meeting today, Thursday, with the British Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Richard Oppenheim he confirmed the reiterated the Presidential Council's commitment to deal constructively with every effort in the interest of the Yemeni people all over Yemeni regions.

Al-Alimi and Oppenheim discussed the latest developments in the Yemeni arena including the repercussions of the Terrorist Houthi militias and their rejection to renew the UN-sponsored truce.

The conversations touched upon the terrorist attack by Houthi militias against a commercial ship carrying oil derivatives at Qena harbor in Shabwa governorate.

The British Ambassador condemned the Houthis' terrorist operation against the commercial ship laden with fuels for the population at Qena port.

Mr. Oppenheim confirmed the continuation of the UK's support for the legitimate Yemeni government, represented by the Presidential Leadership Council.
