President al-Alimi arrives in Sharm el-Sheikh to contribute to COP27

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, arrived today, Sunday, in the Egyptian City of Sharm el-Sheikh to participate in the COP27 Summit which its sessions starting tomorrow, Monday, under the auspices of the United Nations.

President al-Alimi and his accompanying delegation greeted by the Egyptian Minister of Health Dr. Khalid Abdulghagar at Sharm el-Sheikh airport.

The President is going to contribute to the sessions of the COP27 Summit to explain the negative impacts of the Climate Changes upon the environmental resources, economy and sustainable development, citing the huge damages the tropical hurricanes caused in several Yemeni cities.

President al-Alimi is set to contribute to several round tables deliberations about food and water security.

He will also participate in the Green Middle East Summit which suggested by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the aim of reducing carbon emissions and adapting to climate changes risks.

The President and his accompanying delegation will seek for immediate international finances estimated at approximately $147 million to help Yemen cope with the Climate Changes effects upon livelihood and environmental resources.

The President is accompanied by delegating including the Director of the Republic Presidency Office Dr. Yahya Ashua'ibi, Foreign Minister Dr. Ahmed BinMubarak, Minister of Water and Environment Eng. Tawfeeq Asharjabi.
