Madrid - Saba
The government of Spain has regreted that despite the efforts of the United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg and of countries in the region such as Saudi Arabia, it was not possible to renew on October 2 the truce in force since2 April.
Spain condemned the obstructionist attitude of the Houthi militias and the unreasonable Houthi demands stipulated to accept the extension of the truce, which since its entry into force has allowed a clear improvement in the living conditions of the Yemeni population.
The Spanish government called on all parties, and especially the Houthi militias, to cease hostilities definitively and to initiate a process of political negotiation.
