President meets with Parliament Speaker, MPs on latest developments

President of the Presidential Leadership Council Rashad al-Alimi met Saturday with Parliament Speaker Sheikh Sultan al-Barakani, members of the parliament and heads of parliamentarian committees.
The meeting discussed latest developments in the country and preparations for holding sessions of the parliament in the transitional capital of Aden.
President al-Alimi reviewed reforms taken by the council in institutional and service sectors, including financial and control domains, confirming that the council, in cooperation with the government is pursuing implementation of duties of the transfer included in the Declaration of Transferring Power despite challenges facing it in different levels.
He pointed out to measures taken for enhancing the control role on state institutions, correcting faults, combating corruption and working on normalizing security and service situations in liberated provinces.
He confirmed that the priority of the Presidential Leadership Council is tightening security of the transitional capital of Aden and liberated provinces starting with formation of the Military and Security Committee to unify the armed forces and integrating them under the ministry of defense and interior.
President al-Alimi confirmed integration of the council and its commitment of consensus approach and unity of the fronts for the purpose of facing emergent challenges and working on implementing the aim of regaining the state and ending Houthi militia's coup.
