Minister of Oil and Minerals Saeed al-Shammasi discussed Wednesday with General Manager of Yemeni Company for Oil Investments a number of issues associated with oil sectors, mainly Sector- 5 and problems it faces for increasing production and marketing oil internationally.
He stressed significance of activating oil managements and working from inside the country and tightening controlling and accountability role, pointing out to importance of the Yemeni Company for Oil Investments as the state body Yemen depends on for attracting more oil investments.
Minister al-Shammasi also confirmed readiness of oil ministry to cooperate with the company on training and qualifying local cadre in all fields associated with oil management and making preparations to hold joint meeting includes oil ministry, the company and Petero Masila Company, which is the operator of Sector-5.
The meeting, which will be held early next week, will discuss challenges facing operating the sector and making suitable solutions to commence actual production and exportation of oil.
