The Minister of Water and Environment, Eng. Tawfiq Al-Sharjabi, discussed today in the temporary capital Aden with the Director of the Middle East, North Africa, Southeast Asia and Latin America at the German foreign ministry and the Development Adviser at the German Embassy in Yemen the possibility of supporting the water and environment sector in Yemen.
The meeting discussed the priorities and needs of the water sector in Yemen, the problems faced by the local water and sanitation institution in the temporary capital, Aden, and the problems of energy supply.
Minister Al-Sharjabi stressed the depth of the historical relations between the two friendly countries, as well as the support and assistance provided by the German government to the water sector through the German Agency for International Cooperation and the German Bank for Reconstruction and Development, stressing the importance of continuing this developmental support for the water sector in these difficult circumstances that our country is going through.
