MASAM removes 1423 Houthi-laid landmines in a week

KSrelief Center's Demining Project in Yemen (MASAM) managed to extract 1423 of landmines and unexploded ordinances (UXO) in the third week of June 2022, planted by Iran-backed Houthi militiamen in different Yemeni regions.

MASAM reported that its deminers pulled out 19 anti-personnel and 316 anti-tanks landmines, 1,087 UXO and one explosive device.

This bring total number of the Houthi-laid down landmines which removed by MSAM up to 346 thousand and 570 landmines.

Houthi militias-laid down landmines have killed 2,818 civilians and injured 3,566 more during the period from April 2014 to March 2022 according a report issued by human rights groups last April.
