CAIRO-SABA
His Excellency President Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) paid a visit today, second day of his official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, to the Egyptian Parliament.
Speaker of the Egyptian Parliament Hanafi al-Jebali received al-Alimi and his accompanying delegation including the two members of the PLC Sultan al-Aradah and Othman Mujalli.
The President praised the leading Egyptian democratic experiment, noting that Egyptian parliamentarians can have significant role in supporting the fair Yemeni cause of restoring the state, eliminating Iran-backed Houthi militia's coup. He recalled the historic Egyptian stance in support of the Yemen people and republican regime that replaced the Imamate theocratic ruling in 1962.
He said" The new Imamate scheme in the mantle of the theologian mandate and the slogan of exporting Khomeini revolution has engulfed Yemen in warfare and destruction, in a bid to bring it back to the outdated era, damaging its social fabric, separating it from its Arab entity, making it launching pad to threaten security of neighboring countries and international maritime navigation".
