The U.S. Embassy in Yemen has stated that the inspection of any vessel by the United Nations Verification and Inspection Mechanism in Yemen (UNVIM) does not mean that it is safe from U.S. sanctions, especially those ships, entities and individuals providing material support to the Houthis.

Speaker of Shura Council meets with Swedish envoy to Yemen

RIYADH - SABA
Speaker of Shura Council Dr. Ahmed Obeid bin Dagher met today with the Sweden's Special Envoy to Yemen Peter Semneby.

The session aimed to discuss the latest developments in Yemen, the Yemeni-Yemeni consultations in Riyadh which the GCC called for and peace prospects.

Bin Dagher highly appreciated the significant efforts have been made by the Kingdom of Sweden to contribute to reach a sustainable and comprehensive peace in Yemen.

He renewed welcoming the two-month truce announced by the UN's envoy to Yemen to halt all military operations in the hope that it will be developed to permanent cease-fire agreement produces enduring comprehensive peace.

The Swedish envoy stated that his country is continuing to support Yemen, doing utmost efforts to contribute to getting the crisis resolved and peace established.
