The Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development signed Thursday a Grant Agreement with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) worth $1.2 million to contribute to the rehabilitation and maintenance of homes for displaced persons in Yemen.

Planning minister participates in session on recovery from covid

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Wa'id Batheeb participated Thursday in the session assigned for recovery from Covid-19 in under developed countries within Arab forum for sustainable development here.
Batheeb reviewed government efforts for transferring from relief into development and creating productive projects, work opportunities and increasing productivity, confirming necessity of finding joint framework to reflect humanitarian and developmental interventions.
He stressed significance of building peace and stability, pointing out to a number of institutional choices regarding humanitarian and developmental work and peace adopted by a national team led by planning ministry working on coordinating efforts between different governmental bodies and coordinating efforts on the level of Yemen's regional and international partners.
He also confirmed significance of coordination with donors through ministry of planning and international cooperation to mobilize resources and assistances and directing them in accordance with national priorities.
