President Hadi receives US Envoy to Yemen

President of the Republic Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi received today the American Envoy to Yemen Timothy Lenderking and his accompanying delegation.

The President highly praised Lenderking's efforts to achieve peace the Yemeni people are desperately waiting for.

He said that we're peace-seekers, we have made huge sacrifices and offered significant concessions to stop bloodshed, establish security and stability that maintain Yemen's unity, security and stability.

Hadi pointed out to the miserable humanitarian situation Yemen has been experiencing due to the war and its disastrous consequences. He squarely put blame on the putschist Houthi militias for prolonging the conflict and worsening the Yemeni peoples' suffering.

He deeply appreciated the USA's role in supporting Yemen and its legal government in different international forums, calling for further efforts by the US administration through Yemen Donors Conference, scheduled to be convened shortly.

The President of the Republic praised Yemeni-American deep and robust relationship, and constructive cooperation collaboration between the two countries about fighting terrorism, smuggling, Yemen's security, stability and unity, the protection of the international maritime shipping lanes and countering the Iranian interferences in the region.

Mr. Lenderking confirmed the USA's support for the legitimate Yemeni government and underway efforts of the UN's envoy to reach an agreement to put end of the war, establish peace that maintains Yemen's unity, security and stability.

Director of the Presidency Office Dr. Abdullah al-ALimi and the Charged' Affairs of the US embassy in Yemen Katharine Westly were in attendance.
