Masam Project Removes 3,166 Landmines from Yemeni Territory in February
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre’s project for clearing Yemeni lands of mines (Masam) has succeeded in removing 3,166 landmines from various regions of Yemen during the first week of February 2026.

Shabwah Governor discusses with US diplomat investment cooperation

Governor of Shabwah Awadh al-Awlaqi discussed Thursday with Charge d'Affairs of US Embassy in Yemen Kathy Westly via visual communications investment opportunities in the province.

Al-Awlaqi reviewed efforts of local authority in normalizing conditions in different districts of the province, pointing out to challenges facing the local authority after liberating its three other districts recently from Houthi militia.

He pointed out to exerted efforts to activate institutional work in the province in different internal affairs and readiness to receive the first batch of female police.

He renewed government's keenness on fighting terrorism and extremism and continuing cooperation with the international community to get rid of terrorist elements and hideouts.

For her part, the US diplomat showed readiness to cooperate with Shabwah local authority and promoting its security capabilities as initial step to resume investment work in Yemen and Shabwah in particular, mainly Natural Liquified Gas Project.
