ADEN-SABA
Prime Minister Ma'een Abdulmalik received Sunday UN Envoy to Yemen Hans Grundberg in his second visit to Aden to inform him on results of his regional and international tour and his local meetings within UN efforts to resume political process in Yemen.
The meeting tackled tracks through which the UN envoy works to deal with current situation in Yemen amid Houthi militias' military escalation on Marib and repeated shelling against civilians and displaced people, and its rejection to all solutions and initiatives for stopping the war, in stark defiance to UN and international will and popular demand.
The meeting discussed government's efforts to deal with economic challenges and demanded UN and international support to the government to help it stop deterioration of the price of the local currency, control the inflation, realize economic stability and alleviate suffering of the people.
Prime minister confirmed positive dealing of the government with international efforts to realize peace in accordance with the three agreed upon references supported intentionally, stressing significance of continuous international pressure on Iranian interferences in Yemen and abiding by international resolutions in this regard.
For his part, the UN envoy expressed full understanding to Prime Minister's call for providing quick economic support to the government and support cash reserve and budget, pointing out that the central issue to citizens is economic challenges across Yemen, a matter requires great efforts to reform economy.
Grundberg informed Prime Minister on his regional and international tour and harmony on stopping escalation and violence, especially in Marib and other provinces, thanking the government for its great support to help him carry out his duties.
