ADEN – SABA
The Minister of Transport, Dr. Abdulsalam Hamid, discussed today, in the interim capital, Aden, with UNDP officials the situation of the Safer tanker and the catastrophic repercussions on the marine environment if the tanker spills or explodes.
The Minister of Transport called on the United Nations to exert more pressure on the Houthis to neutralize the tanker from the existing conflict because the resulting danger besets everyone without exception.
He stressed the need and importance of intensifying efforts to limit and solve the problem and expedite the development of solutions to address the situation of the tanker. Dr. Abdul Salam indicated that the nature of the situation today no longer requires maintenance as much as it needs to quickly and permanently empty the tank, and then start addressing the effects of the problem.
