The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced today the designation of 21 individuals and entities, as well as the identification of one vessel, on the sanctions list for their involvement in transporting petroleum products, purchasing weapons and equipment and providing financial services to the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias.

Vice President receives German diplomat on latest developments in Yemen

Vice President Ali Mohsen Saleh received Monday Charge D'Affairs of German Embassy in Yemen Hubert Joseph discussing with him latest developments in Yemen.

Congratulating the newly appointed diplomat to Yemen, Vice President praised German role supporting Yemen and Germany's efforts to alleviate suffering of Yemeni people over Houthi militia's coup against the state.

He presented detailed explanation on current situation in Yemen, efforts exerted to realize peace and internationally-recognized government's support to these efforts, the recent one was Saudi initiative and all efforts aiming at realizing peace in Yemen on the bases of the three agreed upon references: The GCC Initiative, the Outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and Security Council's Resolution 2216.

He pointed out to obstacles made by Houthi militia, with support from Iran, before efforts of realizing peace in Yemen through continuous military escalation, bombing camps of displaced people and populated neighborhoods in Marib, the recent attack was yesterday's ballistic rocket attack on Rawadha Neighborhood, killing and injuring a number of people including children and women.

He confirmed significance of doubling international pressure to rescue the UN resolutions and stopping Houthi militia's continuous attacks on Yemen and outside Yemen.

For his part, the German diplomat appreciated this meeting, confirming that he will save no effort on urging his country to provide more support and assistances to Yemen withing the framework of the international effort to alleviate humanitarian crisis in Yemen.
