Prime Minister Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik received a phone call from the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf, who welcomed his return to the temporary capital, Aden, and renewed the support of the GCC countries for the government to carry out its tasks and lead the reform efforts needed by the Yemeni people in various fields.
During the call, they discussed the situation in the national arena and its developments and international efforts to bring peace, in addition to the unified position towards completing the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement in the light of the sincere efforts led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the importance of the parties fulfilling their obligations, in a manner that serves the unity of the national ranks in the fateful and existential battle against the Iranian-backed Houthi coup.
The two sides discussed coordination mechanisms to mobilize support for the government to carry out its duties, and what the GCC can do in this aspect, especially in the aspect of urgent economic support and improvement of basic services.
