MARIB - SABA
Deputy Governor of Marib Abd-Rabbu Miftah discussed Thursday with the delegation of the World Food Program a number of issues associated with humanitarian interventions of the program and performance of its local partners under depriving many displaced people from food assistances.
In the meeting, the two parties discussed tackling situations of the displaced families from Jawf, Sana'a and from suburbs of Marib Province to the city and the districts of Wadi, Jouba and Harib.
The meeting also discussed effects of lack of following up movement of displaced people and mistakes committed by WFP's partners.
The meeting discussed significance of boosting partnership between local authority and the program for making active mechanism for following up and registering displacement process to the province from Houthi-held areas.
The head of the delegation pointed out that the program has been able to categorize and solve problems of 3700 displaced families from Jawf to Marib and including them within lists of beneficiaries in addition to emergency intervention of providing one food parcel one time for 90 thousand beneficiaries from new displaced people to the province.
Miftah confirmed keenness of the local authority on boosting partnership with the WFP, facilitating its activities, neutralizing humanitarian work and correcting performance of the local partners to ensure handing over assistances to the beneficiaries of the displaced people.
He pointed out that Marib has become the greatest place to the displaced people from different parts of the country.
