Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Qassem Beheibeh launched a nutrition support project for children under five and pregnant and lactating mothers in seven governorates.
Implemented by the Taiba Development Foundation with funding from Ksrelie, the project, aims to target 147,179 people and 55 health facilities in the governorates of Aden, Lahj, Taiz, Al Hudaydah, Hadramawt, Hajjah and Marib.
It aims to contribute to tackling cases of malnutrition among children under five and pregnant and lactating women by providing therapeutic feeding services for people with acute, severe and moderate malnutrition diseases at its three levels. .
The Minister stressed the importance to support the treatment of malnutrition cases given that malnutrition has in some governorates reached a critical level.
