The Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction in Yemen launched Wednesday with Saudi Islamic Bank for Development the first workshop of capacity building program of Yemen's Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation.
The workshop, which aims at boosting Yemen's economy and improving daily livelihood, discussed challenges and defining needs associated with the ministry's tasks, its current resources and central role of preparing, following up the government's program for development and economic recovery and governing work with international organizations and bodies.
In the opening ceremony of the workshop, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Wa'id Batheeb confirmed that the government is fully confident that realizing sustainable economic growth, facing poverty, alleviating food and humanitarian crisis and avoiding starvation is the real solution to Yemen's current crisis and their repercussions.
He pointed out that this will not realize if there is no direct technical cooperation from brothers and development's partners and activating developmental partnership between Yemen and its development partners.
For his part, the General Sponsor of the Saudi Program for Yemen's Development and Reconstruction Mohammad Al Jaber confirmed kingdom's keenness on supporting the government of Yemen and its people.
For his part, the Head of Islamic Bank for Development Bandar Hajjar pointed out that capacity building of national institutions and providing national competence in different fields represent the key factor for rehabilitation and reconstruction in Yemen, confirming private sector's role.
