RIYADH – SABA
President Abd-Rabbo Mansour Hadi affirmed the depth of the strategic relations linking Yemen with the United States of America and aspects of cooperation in various files related to the security and stability of Yemen, including security cooperation, combating terrorism, securing international navigation, economic and humanitarian cooperation, and others.
Hadi made the remarks during his meeting with the US ambassador to Yemen, Christopher Hanzel, whose tenure in Yemen has ended.
Hadi stressed the impossibility of Yemen’s accepting of the Iranian theocratic “revolution” experience to be copied in Yemen.
He said his government looks “forward to peace and dialogue [with the Houthi militants] on the basis of the recognized terms of reference, stopping the war and easing the burdens on our Yemeni people."
He wished Christopher success in his upcoming duties, carrying him to convey his greetings to the American leadership for its efforts in support of Yemen and its constitutional legitimacy. On his part, the American ambassador expressed his pleasure at the warm welcome and farewell expressing his pride in his period as his country's ambassador to Yemen appreciating the support and directives of His Excellency President Hadi for him and facilitating his duties during his tenure during the past years.
